I'm happy to announce that I have again been re-elected Vice President of the Canadian Association of Magicians (CAM), Canada's largest magic association.
Last year was a HUGE year for magicians. Here's why:
From July 25-30, 2022, the World Championship of Magic (FISM) appeared in Quebec City!
FISM is an international competition for magicians. It is held every three years in a different country and was last held in Busan, South Korea in 2018. That's when it was announced that Canada won the next host city!
The multi-day convention drew thousands of magicians worldwide and was supposed to happen in 2021, but unfortunately, COVID-19 got in the way.
There are many reasons why this is a big deal. Let me share two:
A HUGE opportunity for Canada, CAM, and our members. It put Canada centre stage and showed the world Canadian hospitality and magic!
FISM has NEVER appeared in North America… EVER! Fun Fact: FISM was founded in 1948.
Competitors had the chance to show off their magic skills in front of thousands of people and compete for the acclaimed Grand Prix title across several categories—including stage magic, micro magic (close-up magic) and invention.
FISM 2022 was a massive success that brought together over 2000 magicians to Quebec City for a once in a lifetime exeperience.

If you're in Canada and haven't yet joined CAM, now is the time! We work hard every day to support magicians in our country. If you want to be part of that effort (and get access to some pretty great resources), join us at www.cammagic.org.
As Vice President, I'm thrilled to be part of a fantastic team and represent CAM at such an exciting time!
