It’s So Cold AND PICTURES FROM TOURS PAST.

It’s August 29th and it feels like late fall.  Boooooo.

These pictures from the 2008 Western tour seemed like an bitter reminder appropriate fit.  This was along highway 3 in British Columbia… Crowsnest Pass.  I believe it was July… and there was snow on the pass.  Not a huge surprise… we see it alot, but still pretty cool. (No pun intended)

This little chalet and lake was literally to the right of these frames.  A beautiful stop.

Expectations, Snow, and Mexicans?

Call me weird a geek… but I love performing in venues that you wouldn’t normally expect to see a magic show in.  Don’t get me wrong… a beautiful theatre is sooooo much easier and prestigious, but there is a certain amount of pride that goes into the extra back ache hard work.

When an audience arrives to a ‘convention centre’ not expecting to see our setup and says “wow… this show looks good’ before its even started… that’s a happy moment for me.

Expectations can be a beautiful thing when they work in your favour.

We have to be able to travel anywhere and do a show in any setting.  This picture below was taken from our show in Red Deer… a ‘convention centre show.’  You would never know the difference.

But our muscles do :)

Final bows in Red Deer

During load out we found some of these hats and were quick to make a picture.   The hats weren’t ours and we were afraid to get in trouble :( so we scrambled to get a group photo… which was failing … we needed mustaches.  We were like a bunch of kids expecting to get  caught.

BUT low and behold the evil convention centre staff starts walking in the room….approaching us.

“Quick take the picture… hurry they are coming”

Within 20 feet one of them takes a firm stance and yell’s :  “Would you like us to take the picture for you?”

Guess they weren’t evil at all…we were just expecting it.

It was a cold and snowy day…

A Beautiful Summer Day...

A Beautiful Summer Day...

Rebecca reminded us all today that this time 365 days ago we were on tour, with blizzard like conditions.  Who would have figured that we’d be driving to a show and seeing cars in the ditch 4 days before JUNE!!!  Crazy crazy crazy.  But these are the trials and tribulations of life on the road.

I was trying to suppress this memory… along with driving through 2 tornadoes.  Okay Rebecca I know… you drove through the first tornado while Mr. Magic slept in the back of the van… If it makes any consulation I was dreaming about driving through a tornado.

BTW: Sorry for the late posting :(  long day.
