It doesn’t seem to matter how many times we see them… the require a photo. Really lucked out with these these two photogenic beauties. Actually they are a bit scary looking. They always seem like they are looking right through you.
Recent Photographic Work
by Ryan Joyce on Jul.25, 2010, under Pictures
Wanted to share some “recent” photographic work I did for my good friend Kendra Hughes and her dance company Kinetic Elements. They recently performed at the Toronto Fringe Festival and since I owe Kendra a bunch of favours
I gracefully offered the use of my lens and natural talent to make photographic mistakes. The show was excellent.
I say recent because I’m playing ketchup catch up on the blogski and recent for me could be Christmas.
Kendra also worked with us on some choreography elements to an illusion that is re-appearing in the 2010 tour.
Anywho, hope you enjoy.
Walter Blaney’s Visit

Several years ago I had the fortune of being introduced to a legend in the magic business, Walter “Zaney” Blaney. Since then I’ve had the fortune of getting to know Walter – learning from him and about him. He is an amazing man.
When people ask who would be your influences or aspire to be I can’t help but wish for an ounce of Walter’s talents, kindness and spirit!
A great week was had by all!
Photo Shoot: Caitlin Alexander

Had a blast today satisfying my other passion… I went out on a photo shoot in the dripping wet, rainy, snow conditions with my good friend Shawn Lord. Caitlin was a great sport and wonderful to work with. A blast from the past actually… Caitlin worked with us at one of our shows in Fergus several years back.
Hope you enjoy.

Choreographer’s Snow Ball 2009 Kitchener, Ontario
by Ryan Joyce on Dec.07, 2009, under Fun, News, Pictures
Well yesterday I met up with long time friend Kendra Hughes in Kitchener for an evening of artistic dance and choreography. A great night was had by all… it was fun to see Kendra’s company Kinetic Elements in … their element… at Elements Night Club. The king of comedy right here folks.
In all there were over 500 frames… I picked a handful of my fav’s…
Please excuse the watermarks on the images, sometimes (especially in theatre) people feel they can steal images, without consideration for the photographer. As an artist I’ve compensated for every photograph I’ve used… as a photographer my work is something I take great pride and respect in.
BTW: shameless plug for all those magicians out there :

Cooking Up a storm!

Sometimes you do things you don’t want to do.
Sometimes we do things others want us to do.
And sometimes we do things for ourselves.
One of my favourite Zig Ziglar quotes has always been: “When you do things you have to do, when you have to do them… you’ll have infinitely more time for the things you want to do, when you want to do them.”
Good ol’ Ziggie.. he’s so smart. I used torture play for the crew a little Zig Ziglar on 10+ hour driving days; we have our own Zigisims.
I digress.
Recently I spent sometime with a new friend and accomplished chef/entrepreneur Ro Cober of Log Cabin Heaven. While Ro is one of the most modest people I know; she has a lot she could brag about! Rather than bragging, she proves it in her work.
Really had a blast with Ro and looking forward to our next culinary adventure. Make sure to check out www.logcabinheaven.com

I really liked the quote, so took a needed distraction from raking second and captured this frame.
Finally Working … and See you next Fall?
by Ryan Joyce on Oct.29, 2009, under News, Pictures
My web server finally upgraded (until now I practically had to use an abacus to perform any functions.) So YEAH! to the upgrades. BUT ARRRGGG to it throwing my blog and email into my normal state of ciaos out of whack. But alas, the blogging directory changes etc seemed to be resolved!
So fall is coming.
When I was a kid and stupid I still remember going through that awkward stage when “sayings” didn’t compute (like my web server) For example: I remember as kid falling and hearing the saying “Have a nice trip? See you next fall!” Apparently this was funny..but I didn’t get it.
Then life happens and we become so much more intelijent and smrt. Ho culd we bee so dum?
I digress.
Here are some pictures I captured last year. Haven’t had the opportunity to run out and get some last minute photo adventures until winter comes and its too damn cold to do anything the snow flies.
BOOOOO (and not in the festive Halloween way… BOOOOO as in AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH)
